San Francisco Museum of Modern Art Sculpture Garden // San Francisco, California

SFMOMA’s new rooftop sculpture garden includes a 5,000 square foot enclosed glass pavilion between two open-air galleries.  Neutral ventilation strategies were employed in conjunction with the high-efficiency HVAC system to minimize energy consumption and the need for mechanical cooling.  A roof mounted photovoltaic system was incorporated to capture further savings.  The nature of the building require special attention be paid to minimizing visibility and audibility of the equipment ensuring proper airflow and humidification.
