UC Davis Tercero III Student Housing // University of California, Davis

New seven low rise, 4-story buildings providing housing for 1200 students. The site is organized around a series of courtyards and a central dining/commons building. Tercero III residences will form two neighborhoods, each surrounding a unique courtyard. This village-style configuration provides opportunities to create an environmentally and socially responsible community integrated at multiple scales, from the residential cluster to the entire Tercero Student Housing Area of 2000 students and to the campus and beyond.

Tercero III, is designed to work within the larger goals of the UC Davis Climate Action Plan. A sustainable and performance-based design philosophy is incorporated into the design process to provide an integrated design approach. The project will achieve LEED Platinum Certification by minimizing loads and demand requirements, utilizing local environmental conditions, optimizing passive and active systems, maximizing resource effectiveness.
